A man named Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, who had reportedly confessed to k!lling 42 women and was being held in connection with the discovery of dismembered bodies in Nairobi, Kenya, has escaped from police custody.
He was being detained along with 12 other individuals of Eritrean nationality who were arrested for immigration vi0lations.
According to officials, Khalusha escaped along with the 12 others.
As a result, disciplinary actions have been taken against eight police officers, including commanders and those on duty at the time of the escape.
“Our preliminary investigations indicate that the escape was aided by insiders considering that officers were deployed accordingly to guard the station,” he said.
A daring escape occurred at a Kenyan police station early Tuesday morning, where inmates cut through cell wire mesh and climbed over the perimeter wall to freedom.
The breakout was discovered during breakfast delivery, and among the escapees was Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, a 33-year-old suspect being held for alleged multiple m_rders.
Khalusha’s arrest in July followed the gruesome discovery of 10 bodies and various body parts in Nairobi’s Kware area.
He had reportedly confessed to k!lling 42 women, including his wife, and was being held for further investigation before charges could be filed.
“This was a high-value suspect who was to face serious charges. We are investigating the incident and will take action accordingly,” Amin said.
