Nyasha Muza, a 26-year-old man from Karoi, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted on three counts of r@pe.
One of the most heinous incidents occurred on Christmas Day, when Muza took advantage of a woman’s trust by claiming to be sent by her husband to engage in s3xual relations with her.
The victim, who was sleeping with her two children at the time, was deceived by Muza’s false pretense and opened the door to him.
Once inside, he forcibly rap3d her, disregarding her cries for him to stop and threatening to return for further @ssaults in the future.
Following the incident, the traumatized woman reached out to a neighbour for help, but despite attempts to locate Muza, he remained elusive and escaped arrest.
It wasn’t until May 23, 2023, after he committed another r@pe against a 19-year-old woman, that the police were finally able to apprehend him.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) has publicly condemned Muza’s actions, highlighting the gravity of his offenses and the impact on his victims.
