Social media commentator Shadaya Knight continues to support views that demean women, targeting those with failed past relationships.
He suggested that women who have had multiple partners are inherently untrustworthy and promiscuous are not only discriminatory but also inaccurate and insulting.
Knight’s veiled X post about women’s histories exposes a disturbing layer of misogyny and indirect shaming.
By presenting his views in the form of a riddle, he attempts to cloak his h@rmful rhetoric, but the underlying message remains clear: he devalues women based on their pasts.
His post follows below:
“When buying a car it’s always best to go to the dealership & buy a brand new car. But should you not be able to buy a brand new car, then get one without too many previous owners
The very moment you buy a used car, you need to make peace with the fact that, you will not be the only one driving it
Regularly it’ll have to spend nights at the workshop, with mechanics constantly test driving it
It will require special skills to drive it, the engine will be exhausted. Previous owners used to ride it for long hours, others used to be rough when riding it, didn’t even oil it. Others used to load it with heavy loads
You’ll know no peace, at times you’ll notice other drivers flashing lights at you, cause they recognize the car or used to own it at some point. Other people constantly talking behind your back “nywe nywe proud car owner my foot, we used to ride that car”
It isn’t secure, you’ll live in constant fear of previous owners, breaking in & driving it
And you’ll never experience the same feeling of pride as the one who bought his brand new. Think about it, the whole process of changing it’s papers from the previous owner to you
Everything about it is draining – physically, emotionally & financially
And yes this post isn’t about cars
Learn OR perish!!!”
This line of thinking perpetuates harmful stereotypes that associate a woman’s worth with her history, rather than recognizing her as a complex individual with diverse experiences and relationships.
