A sense of dread has settled over Mutare Teachers’ College, as a serial rapist, known for his brazen and disturbing tactics, continues to terrorize off-campus students. The latest attack, confirmed by police, has left two female students shaken and a community on high alert.
The assailant, described as a naked man wearing a balaclava, struck in the dead of night, breaking into the students’ apartment in the Chinyausunzi area of Sakubva suburb. Armed with a knife, he threatened to stab the victims if they screamed, demanding money and valuables.
After robbing the students, the suspect forced them to remove their underwear and lie down. He then allegedly masturbated before raping one of the students without protection, leaving behind a chilling trail of blood.
The investigation, led by Sakubva police and the canine unit, is ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward. As the search for the suspect continues, students and residents are demanding increased security measures to prevent further attacks.
College officials and student groups are calling for strengthened safety protocols, including improved lighting and increased police patrols in high-risk areas. The community remains on edge, as the naked rapist remains at large, striking fear into the hearts of Mutare’s students.
