Zanu PF National Political Commissar Munyaradzi Machacha has come forward with a litany of allegations against Blessed Geza, a war veteran and former Zanu PF Central Committee member. According to Machacha, Geza’s history is marred by deceit and exploitation, dating back to the liberation struggle.
Machacha claims Geza pretended to be Robert Mugabe’s son while training in Romania, earning him VIP treatment and luxurious limousine rides. However, the truth was far less glamorous: Geza’s brother was merely married to Mugabe’s sister. “He would be chauffeured in limousines around Romania,” said Machacha.
Machacha paints Geza as a habitual rule-breaker with a penchant for luxury and dishonesty. During the liberation war, Geza allegedly stole food rations and clothing from the ordnance, trading them for personal gain. His misdeeds were so notorious that he was publicly flogged, yet he never changed his ways. “During the struggle when we were in Mozambique, he never went to the front or fired a single bullet, rather, he stole food rations and clothing… He would be publicly flogged for his bad habits, but he never stopped,” Machacha said.
Machacha’s accusations don’t stop there:
– Army Promotions: Geza allegedly pushed for promotions not based on merit but by begging for them.
– Mozambican Military Operation: Geza supposedly got FRELIMO soldiers drunk, stole truck engines, and smuggled them into Zimbabwe.
– Farm Invasions: Geza allegedly raided white-owned farms, stole cattle, and grabbed abattoirs to sell the stolen livestock.
– Diamond Rush: As a security officer for Mbada Diamonds, Geza purportedly helped himself to some of the gems during the infamous Chiadzwa diamond rush.
Geza has also been involved in other controversies, including a failed attempt to impeach President Mnangagwa and a fraud case against former ARDA chairperson Basil Nyabadza.
