Businessman Sir Wicknell has generously gifted brand-new 2024 Toyota Fortuner SUVs to three iconic Zimbabwean musicians: Mai Charamba, Mechanic Manyeruke and Leonard Zhakata.
In a heartfelt message shared on his social media, he expressed:
“A BIRTHDAY REFLECTION…On my birthday, I was flooded with emotion as I reflected on my remarkable journey and the profound influence of my beloved late mother, Mrs. Canisia Chivayo, who passed away on January 6, 2021. I was moved to tears as I recalled her vivid recounting of my birth—how she traveled from Gandami in Chivhu to Chitungwiza Unit J the day before I arrived, aided by a kind Dr. Takavarasha. She would often remind me that the moment she held me, she recognized my destiny for greatness. Her sacrifices, relentless hard work, and unwavering faith in my potential have shaped me into the person I am today. I spent my afternoon at Glenforest Cemetery, laying flowers to honor her memory, forever grateful for her unmatched love that continues to guide me.
I apologize to all the friends and well-wishers who showered me with beautiful birthday wishes but whom I couldn’t respond to on the day. The emotional weight of the occasion made it challenging to celebrate in the usual manner. I will do my best to reply to as many messages as possible, though I know I may not reach everyone.

This year, I decided to commemorate my birthday in a special way by recognizing three exceptional music legends who have inspired both my mother and me during the toughest times in our lives: Baba Mechanic Manyeruke, Mai Charamba, and Leonard Karikoga Zhakata. Their songs—“Ndinamatire Ndigo Kunamatirawo,” “Ndiri Munana,” and “Hupenyu Mutoro”—provided us with hope and strength to persevere.
Please visit Faramatsi Motors at their Clubchambers showroom located at the corner of 3rd Street and Nelson Mandela to see Mr. Reeves. To these music legends, I want to express what may never have been said to you before: Thank you for inspiring generations, including my late mother and me. Truly, I feel blessed today—Ndiri Munana—and I credit much of my strength and determination to music. This gesture is my tribute to my mother and the love and faith she instilled in me. To everyone who has been a part of my journey, I am endlessly grateful.
