Sister Ros Peterson of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints visited Mother of Peace Centre to see granny Jean. She was accompaned by Elder Guy Peterson, Mr and Mrs Lewis members of their church responsible for Humanitarian section in Mutare. They had lighter moments with popular elderly granny Jean of Mother of Peace Centre. The centre helped a lot of orphaned children due to HIV/AIDS in the early 1980s. Most of the children raised at the home are now graduates and some are still at the centre.
Sister Ros and Elder Guy Peterson also visited Mutemwa Leprosy Catholic Care Centre irrigation, water project and the boreholes. All these projects were donated to Mutemwa Leprosy Catholic Care Centre by Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to sustain farming projects at the centre. The church drilled 12 boreholes, installed water tanks to store water for future use and introduced drip irrigation at Mutemwa Leprosy Catholic Care Centre. The project is worth more than
$30 000USD.
The project will alliviate hunger at the centre. They sell some of the irrigation produce to the community and pilgrims.
