A desperate search is underway for 41-year-old Rajathi Gnanaraj, who was abducted outside her workplace in Deal Party, Gqeberha, on Friday evening.
According to Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, spokesperson for the Eastern Cape police, Gnanaraj and her husband were sitting in their car on Old Grahamstown Road when armed assailants suddenly approached their vehicle around 6 pm.
The g_nmen then took Gnanaraj, leaving her husband behind. Police are now working to track down the kidn@ppers and rescue Gnanaraj.

“Approximately seven armed suspects approached their vehicle, and when victim refused to open her door, the suspects smashed the window.
“The suspects pulled the victim from her vehicle into a silver Toyota Corolla and drove off in the direction of New Brighton.
“Thereafter, the suspects got into a red Haval and drove off.
“The husband was left behind in his vehicle.”
Van Rensburg said the motive for the kidn@pping is unclear at this stage.
