In a shocking turn of events, a 40-year-old man from Pumula in Bulawayo lost his life over a misunderstanding about a cellphone. Witness Moyo, who was enjoying a drink with his friend at a local shop, spotted Luke Mudenda passing by and accused him of stealing his phone.
Mudenda, seemingly unfazed by the accusation, responded with a single slap to Moyo’s face. However, this slap proved to be fatal. Moyo fell to the ground, hitting the back of his head, and became unconscious for about five minutes. Although he regained consciousness, he struggled to walk and was helped back to his residence by his friend.
The next morning, Moyo’s friend checked on him and found him lying in bed, showing signs of life. However, despite efforts to feed him, Moyo’s condition worsened, and he eventually passed away. The police were notified, and Moyo’s body was taken to the United Bulawayo Hospitals mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
As the investigation unfolds, one can’t help but wonder: was the slap worth it? The loss of a life over a stolen phone accusation is a tragic outcome that highlights the importance of resolving disputes peacefully.
The police are currently investigating the matter, and it’s likely that Mudenda will face charges. But will justice be served?
