Socialite and businessman Mike Chimombe is mourning the untimely loss of his mother, who succumbed to cancer recently.
Mike Chimombe, the Economic Empowerment Group (EEG) president, shared the news on his Instagram Stories, posting pictures of his mother in happier times and when the disease took a hard toll on her.
In one of the pictures, Chimombe wrote:
“It is sad that you have left us. Things will never be the same without you, Amai, and your leaving us has left a deep void in our hearts. We will always miss you, Mangwenya. We wish you didn’t have to leave us so soon. May your soul rest in peace.”
Mike Chimombe shared a series of pictures of his mother, who was a Methodist member.

In one of the heartbreaking pictures, Chimombe’s mother was getting chemotherapy treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
The condition smacked her so hard that she used a wheelchair. Despite spirited efforts to revive her health, Boss Mike’s mother did not get better, and her health deteriorated as she got bedridden in hospital, with hospital drips and oxygen pipes connected to her body.
Her fight with cancer got too much, and she succumbed to the virulent disease.
Mike Chimombe also lost his father in 2021.
