Macheso received the vehicle from businessman Wicknell Chivayo.
Solo has been featuring at Macheso’s shows as a supporting act.
“Macheso’s Mercedes Benz is mine because he received it on behalf of sungura artists.
“If I need it to do my errands, if I want to attend my corporate meetings, I will simply visit him and drive it away,” he said.
Solo, who fronts Kutinya Express, said the sungura community has been honoured by the donation.
“We have done a lot in trying to entertain people besides the many challenges we face.
“In my case, I have managed to sustain my band through mining.”
Solo recently wowed fans at Macheso’s show in Warren Park.
“The polished performance you is as a result of hard work and thorough rehearsals.
“It’s not easy to lead such a big band like mine.
“I would like to thank Wicknell for what he is doing for our industry.”
Solo is set to launch his new album next month.
“I released my first album, Ngazvive Zvenyu in 2004, Chibvana Changu in 2005, Tave Pandima in 2006, Mubata Kwese in 2011, Mwari Wenyasha in 2019, Nyaya Idovi in 2022, ZvaMwari Hazvipikisve in 2023,” he said.
