Reverend Eastwood Anaba, founder of Fountain Gate Chapel and leader of Eastwood Anaba Ministries, tackled a delicate issue that may be driving some men away from church.
He pointed out a fascinating, yet troubling reality: the way some wives treat their pastors can overshadow their relationships with their husbands, often leaving men feeling sidelined.
Reverend Anaba described the profound admiration that many wives show their pastors, using phrases like, “Oh Daddy, good morning!” or “Here’s a seed,” creating an atmosphere akin to spiritual reverence.
It’s as if in the presence of their pastors, they encounter divine authority, showering them with affection and respect that seems to vanish at home.

In stark contrast, these husbands return from long trips to a different reality. “The man notices that his wife didn’t say ‘I miss you,’ nor did she offer him a meal. But the minute she sees her pastor, it’s like she’s encountered an angel,” Reverend Anaba lamented.
This disparity creates an invisible rift, with men feeling increasingly unappreciated as their wives express admiration for their pastors while neglecting their own spouses.
The Reverend’s observations raise a critical dialogue about the delicate balance between piety and partnership.
He warned that this unequal treatment not only strains marriages but could also breed resentment towards pastors, making church involvement more challenging for some men.
As his sermon resonated with the congregation, a new conversation emerged about nurturing love and respect within marriages, even amidst fervent religious devotion.
