  Zambia will shut down the hydropower facility on its side of the lake on September 14, leaving families and businesses with only three hours of electricity per day, while Zimbabwe has stated it may have to switch off the turbines at its hydropower station in December. The drought, induced by climate change, has resulted in a major decline in water levels at Kariba Dam, the world's largest man-made lake and a shared electricity source for the two countries.
