On October 6, 2024, law enforcement officials in Harare conducted a successful operation that led to the arrest of ten individuals suspected of involvement in the possession of illegal dr_gs.
Officers responded to received intelligence and swooped in on a residence located on Mupani Avenue in the Mufakose area Mupani Avenue, where the arrests took place.
During the operation, authorities confiscated four sachets of Crystal Meth, a potent and highly addictive substance.
Among the suspects apprehended were Tafadzwa Muchongwe (28), Davison Dezera (30), and seven others, including individuals as young as 20 years old, highlighting the concerning trend of dr_g use among youth.
The suspects have been identified as Abraham Kamanga, Lovemore Maruma, Brian Takunda Muchongwe, Kudzanai Mukopfa, Shingirai Chirwa, William Kamanga, Leeroy Tapiwa Chigwida (39), and Musa Chimwala.
This incident underscores the ongoing challenges that communities face with dr_g ab_se and trafficking.
