The Econet Victoria Falls Marathon, which is one of the country’s most prestigious road running events, drew a large and competitive field of athletes from across the region. The 16th edition of the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon themed “Road to Victory” attracted a mix of professional and recreational runners, all vying for the top prizes.
Zimuto’s winning time was a remarkable achievement, considering the challenging course and the hot weather conditions on the day. The Black Rhinos athlete showed his experience and endurance, staying strong throughout the race to take the top spot on the podium.
“I’m thrilled to have won this prestigious event,” Zimuto said in an interview after the race. “It’s been a long time coming, and I’m grateful to have put in the hard work and dedication required to achieve this goal.”
The win is also a testament to the training facilities and support provided by Black Rhinos Athletics Club, which has produced some of Zimbabwe’s top athletes over the years.
The Econet Victoria Falls Marathon has become an annual highlight on Zimbabwe’s sporting calendar, attracting thousands of participants and spectators each year. The event is supported by local and international sponsors, including Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited, which is a major supporter of athletics in Zimbabwe.
