In a daring daylight robbery, five armed robbers stormed into the Imperial Refrigeration Company in Southerton, Harare, and made off with a chilly US$13,000 and R2,000 in cash. Because who doesn’t love a good cash grab?
The robbers, armed with knives and a bad attitude, jumped over a precast wall like they were in a parkour competition. They then proceeded to manhandle a security guard, tying his hands with shoe laces – talk about a fashion statement gone wrong!
The thieves took the security guards to the administration office, where they broke into the safe using iron bars, a bolt cutter, and a grinder. It was like they were trying to break into Fort Knox! ( a fortified vault building)
According to Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, the police are investigating the case, because apparently, they have nothing better to do. “Police are investigating a robbery case at a Refrigeration Company in Southerton involving more than US$13,000,” said Insp Chakanza, in a statement that’s almost as exciting as the robbery itself.
The question on everyone’s mind is: how did these robbers come up with such a cool plan? Did they watch too many heist movies? Were they inspired by Money heist? Or did they just really want to get their hands on some cold, hard cash?
Whatever the reason, one thing’s for sure – these robbers are certainly “cool” customers!
