In a bizarre case of “deadbeat tenant meets overzealous landlord,” Crispen Marara allegedly beat his tenant, Tendai Nenguwo, to death over a rent dispute. Because, you know, a few hundred bucks can be worth losing your life over.
Tendai allegedly pocketed $560 meant for rent, and Marara was not pleased. Instead of, say, calling the cops or evicting him, Marara decided to take matters into his own hands – with a broomstick. Classy.
Marara and his crew of accomplices worked Tendai over, leaving him battered and bruised. Tendai spent weeks in the hospital, battling the effects of the assault, before finally succumbing to his injuries. Talk about a bad investment.
