Zimbabwean professional mixed martial artist Themba Gorimbo has revealed that he has completed the first phase of his project to establish a solar-powered library in his rural home of Bikita, Zimbabwe.
In a recent post, Gorimbo announced, “Phase 1 of my village library project in Zimbabwe is complete. The foundation is done, and the first brickwork has started.” He shared that this has been a dream of his since his fight in February, although he faced setbacks, including being scammed while trying to sell his kit online.
Gorimbo explained that the library will benefit the young children in the village by allowing them to study at night, thanks to its solar power and 24-hour accessibility. The project aims to provide free internet access to the villagers, fostering education and growth. He emphasised that the library will play a crucial role in shaping the future of his village, district, and province, and hopes it will help cultivate the leaders of tomorrow.
