A type of instant porridge has been taken off the market in South Africa after three young children d!ed, allegedly after eating it.
According to police spokesperson Lt Col Siphokazi Mawisa, the children, aged between 18 months and four years, complained of stomach pains after consuming Top Score Instant Porridge and d!ed on Friday.
Spar, the supermarket where the porridge was sold, ordered all of its stores to remove the product from their shelves.
The company that produces the porridge, Namib Mills, stated that while there is currently no evidence connecting their product to the d&aths, they are taking the situation very seriously.

They expressed their condolences to the affected families and announced that they would stop selling the porridge while investigations are underway.
Namib Mills also mentioned that they are fully cooperating with the relevant authorities and have started their own internal investigation.
The three deceased children were from two different families in the Eastern Cape province. A fourth child, who is seven years old, also became ill after eating the porridge but was released from the hospital over the weekend.
All flavors of the porridge, including the vanilla one, have been removed from stores. It is not yet known what caused the deaths of the three children.
Buffalo City Municipal spokeswoman Bongani Fuzile told the Daily Maverick that samples of the porridge have been sent to the National Health Laboratory Services for testing and analysis.
