Zvishavane Town was filled with sorrow as news broke of the passing of Councillor Cherita Majama Mundoka from the Zvishavane Town Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC). Councillor Mundoka, who had been battling a prolonged illness, breathed her last at Ngoni Private Hospital in Zvishavane.
The somber announcement was made by Town Council chairperson Takarangana Keta in an interview with The Source. Keta expressed heartfelt condolences to Mundoka’s family and loved ones during this painful and tragic time. He acknowledged her unwavering commitment to the progress and transformation of Zvishavane Town Council, highlighting her tireless efforts as one of the dedicated councillors.
Mundoka had a remarkable political career, having served as a councillor since 2013. Her dedication and contributions to the community were recognized by Zvishavane residents, leading to her re-election in 2018. Recently, she had been sworn in for her third term after securing re-election in the August 23, 2023, elections.
Survived by her husband, two sons, and two daughters, Councillor Cherita Majama Mundoka leaves a void in the hearts of her loved ones and the entire Zvishavane community.
