In preparation for the 2024 August Southern African Development Community(SADC) summit, a projects tour delegation has been deployed at the Rainbow Towers hotel in Harare to inspect the refurbishment progress.
According to Permanent secretary Nick Mangwana, the Rainbow Towers hotel will also be used as a venue to accomodate some of the summit delegation.
“The hotel refurbishments will be completed in the next two weeks”, Mr Mangwana confirmed.
The tour delegation inspected the following areas of the hotel; Towers lounge, Recently refurbished elevators, HICC, Presidential suites and diplomatic suits among other areas.
The Rainbow Towers’s refurbishment is among other projects which the government of Zimbabwe has engaged in including roadworks, cyber city establishment, all in preparation for the summit.
Meanwhile,some netizens have expressed disappointmentsand criticism towards government over the costs of ongoing projects for, “a 2 day gig” while some praised it for the improvement of roads and infrastructure.
