A 35-YEAR-OLD traditional healer in Plumtree was sent to prison yesterday after he was found guilty of ass@ulting his girlfriend.
Mqondisi Moyo was sentenced to two years in jail by magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
Nembaware conditionally suspended four months and the remaining 20 months are effective.
Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa told the court that sometime in June Moyo who stayed in the bush near Plumtree High School with his girlfriend went to a nearby bar for drinks.
The duo got drunk and came back to their resting place upon arrival Moyo accused his girlfriend of being drunk and started ass@ulting her with wooden logs.
He took a burning log and burnt her all over the body.
Neighbours filed a police report leading to the arrest of Moyo.
