Three people lost their lives and seven others sustained injuries in a traffic accident outside Masvingo, Zimbabwe on Friday. A Nissan Caravan transporting 10 passengers burst its front tyre while travelling along the Masvingo-Mbalabala Road, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle veered off the roadway before rolling multiple times and coming to rest on its left side.
The three deceased victims could not be saved and were taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital’s morgue. The seven injured passengers were also rushed to the hospital for medical attention. National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi informed local media about the incident.
In a separate accident in Harare on the same day, a Toyota Hiace minivan traveling in the wrong direction on a one-way street overturned after the driver lost control. The minivan landed upside down along Robert Mugabe Road at around 1:30pm, leaving 12 people hurt. Local police are investigating the circumstances surrounding both traffic collisions that occurred in Zimbabwe on Friday.
