The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a tragic road traffic accident that claimed two lives on October 4, 2024, at approximately 4:45 PM along the Mutare-Masvingo Road, specifically at the 162-kilometre peg.
The accident involved a Toyota Probox carrying ten passengers, which reportedly lost control and veered off the road to the left.
Witnesses describe the vehicle as overturning before ultimately coming to rest on its right side, highlighting the severity of the incident.
Emergency services arrived promptly at the scene, but unfortunately, two individuals succumbed to their injuri3s on site.
The deceased have been taken to Silveira Mission Hospital mortuary, where they will undergo a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of d3ath.
In addition to the fatalities, one other passenger sustained injuri3s and is currently receiving medical treatment at Silveira Mission Hospital.
