A devastating bus accident occurred at the Fairmile Motel traffic circle in Gweru this morning, resulting in the deaths of six people, including a baby. The Harare-bound Ehungwe bus, which was traveling from Botswana, overturned, leaving several passengers injured.
When authorities arrived at the scene, police officers and Gweru City Council firefighters worked to rescue trapped passengers. The bodies of the deceased were taken to a police van, and Commissioner Partson Nyabadza, Officer Commanding police in Midlands Province, was present to oversee the situation.
Commissioner Nyabadza confirmed that six passengers died on the spot and that authorities are following up on those who were rushed to the hospital to assess their condition. An investigation is also underway to obtain a manifest of the people who were on the bus. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims and those affected by this tragic incident.
