The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has officially confirmed a tragic road traffic accident that took place on September 1 2024, at approximately 6:30 PM near the 70-kilometre mark along the Bulawayo-Plumtree Road.
The incident involved a Toyota Allex vehicle carrying six occupants, which veered off the road after colliding with a cow, resulting in a disastrous overturning of the car.
Unfortunately, three individuals lost their lives in this horrifying accident.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance, but the severity of the !njuries sustained by some passengers necessitated their immediate transfer to Plumtree District Hospital.
The bodies of the deceased have been transported to the hospital’s mortuary, where post-mortem examinations will be conducted .
The police are urging motorists to exercise increased caution, particularly in areas where livestock may cross the road, as such collisions can have devastating consequences.
Meanwhile, the surviving victims are receiving medical treatment, and their conditions are being monitored closely.
