The collision resulted in the tragic d3ath of two individuals at the scene, while six others sustained various inj_ries.
Emergency services promptly arrived to transport the injured to Norton Hospital, where they received medical treatment for their injuries.
Meanwhile, the bodies of those who lost their lives were conveyed to the mortuary at Norton Hospital for post-mortem examinations to determine the exact cause of d3ath and facilitate the grieving process for their families.
In a separate incident occurring on the same day, the Marondera police launched an investigation into a fatal hit-and-run accident at the 109 km peg along the Harare-Mutare Road.
In this case, a young man named Tinashe Mushava, aged 22, was walking along the road when he was struck by an unknown motorist who did not stop to offer assistance.
Unfortunately, Mushava sustained severe head injuri3s from the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. This tragic event has left the community in mourning and raised concerns over road safety and driver accountability.
Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run driver to come forward and report to the nearest police station, emphasizing the importance of cooperation from the public in solving this case.
The ZRP continues to investigate both accidents as they work to prevent such tragedies in the future.
