On November 6, 2024, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reported two devastating road traffic accidents that resulted in fatalities and numerous injuri3s.
The first incident took place around 9:30 AM at the 105-kilometre marker on the Harare-Masvingo Road in Featherstone, where an Elsberry Bus collided with a ZUPCO bus.
Tragically, one individual lost their life at the scene of the crash, while 26 others sustained inj_ries and required medical attention.
In a separate accident occurring earlier that morning at approximately 7:45 AM, another ZUPCO bus lost control and overturned at the 39-kilometre peg on the Harare-Mutare Road.
This incident also resulted in the de@th of one person on the spot, and seven additional passengers were inj_red.
Responders promptly transported the deceased individual to the mortuary at Marondera Provincial Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The injured victims from both accidents were taken to the same hospital for treatment, where they are currently receiving care.
Authorities are investigating both accidents to determine the causes and prevent similar incidents in the future.
