The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a tragic fatal road traffic accident that occurred on August 28. 2024, at approximately 5:00 PM, at the 28 kilometer peg along the Harare-Bulawayo Road.
In this devastating incident, two individuals lost their lives, while six others sustained !njuries when a Toyota Wish vehicle, which was carrying eight passengers, veered off the road and collided viol3ntly with a concrete power line pole.
Emergency responders swiftly transported the bodies of the deceased to the Norton Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examinations, while the !njured individuals have also been admitted to the same hospital for medical treatment.
Eyewitnesses reported that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately following the crash, prompting police investigations to locate the individual responsible for this tragic accident.
The incident has raised further concerns about road safety and the importance of adhering to traffic regulations to prevent such tragic events in the future.
