Bulawayo police are still to find information on the two human legs which were found stuffed inside a bag last year.
Pumula South residents were shocked after finding two human legs stuffed inside a plastic bag. The two human limbs were already decomposing when residents found them stashed inside a sack near a tree near Pumula’s Good Hope Secondary School on 8 October. One of the legs was protruding out of the bag.
The Zimbabwe Republic police appealed to members of the public to come forward and share any information on the severed legs.
Bulawayo deputy police spokesperson for Bulawayo Asst Insp Nomalanga Msebele said in a statement:
“Police appeals for information that may assist in the body identification of two human legs which were recovered stashed in a grey sack, dumped at an illegal dump site under a small bushy area near Good Hope Secondary School in Pumula South Bulawayo on the 8th of October 2023 at around 1600 hrs. The legs resemble those of an adult, and the estimated shoe size is six or seven. They were found in an advanced decomposing state.”
There has been a sharp increase in the number of murders committed in Zimbabwe. The ZRP revealed that over 160 murders were reported in 2023.
On 1 January, Jonisa Tshuma bashed Mcenisi Moyo on the head with an unknown object in Dabe Village, Nkayi. Moyo sustained head injuries, and he was admitted to Nkayi District Hospital. He succumbed to the injuries on 7 January.
On 10 January, a man was found lying d3ad near Mapuranga Transport Service Garage in Western Triangle, Harare. The unidentified man, who was wearing a yellow t-shirt, black trousers, black gum boots and a black cap, had a stab wound in the back. The ZRP is appealing for any information on the murder case.
