In a dramatic turn of events, three Ugandan scammers have been arr£sted in Lusaka, Zambia, after allegedly duping desperate romantics with promises of rekindling lost loves.
The trio, hailing from Kampala, was apprehended by the Zambia National Cyber Security Task Force in a sting operation.
Operating from Lusaka’s Matero Township—a notorious hub for dubious activities—the scammers were found in possession of numerous mobile phone SIM cards from various carriers.
Stephen Kafeero, 32, Bashir Nsubug, 34, and William Simfuka, 37, had marketed themselves on Facebook and WhatsApp as powerful witchdoctors with the ability to restore lost relationships within 24 hours.

One victim reportedly lost K413,725.9 to the scammers, who had promised not only to reunite them with a lost lover but also to cure diseases through their alleged magical charms.
In addition to their deceitful promises, the trio exploited their Luganda accents to run fake promotions and pilfer from unsuspecting mobile wallet users.
When confronted, the scammers—who had previously boasted about their supposed powers—pleaded for mercy, abandoning their claims of supernatural abilities.
Currently, they remain in police custody, and it remains to be seen if their alleged charms can secure their freedom as they face court proceedings.
