Uganda’s Anglican archbishop, Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, has found himself stuck with a substantial cash prize meant for women who remain v!rg!ns until marriage.
The initiative, which was started with the intention of awarding a “big sum of money” to the winners, has been unsuccessful in finding a claimant.
The archbishop’s comments, as reported by the state-owned New Vision website, suggest that the project has been ongoing for some time, with a group of women from the Mothers Union tasked with verifying the eventual winners.
However, so far, no winner has been found.

According to Archbishop Kaziimba, the initiative was inspired by the story of Mary, the mother of Jesus, who was believed to have been made pregnant miraculously by God while still a v!rg!n.
The archbishop noted that the project was focused on women, as it is easier to verify their virginity than that of men.
As a result, the prizes remain unclaimed, and Archbishop Kaziimba has expressed his disappointment at the lack of success with the initiative.
