Harare’s United Methodist Church members held protests today to demonstrate against the newly approved homos3xuality law within the church.
The protests under the theme,”Voice of Laity” took place at the the United Methodist Church HQ in Milton Park where hundreds gathered chanting and holding up banners written,”One Bible,One world-No to Homos3xuality in bid to make clear their intentions.
This protests comes weeks after decision at the United Methodist Church’s General conference was made to lift the ban on lesbians,g@ys, bis3xuals, transgender, Queer community and same s3x marriages.
UMC members have also commented on social media concerning this decision at the GC insisting the western bishops have been eroded and are fully engaged in this Queer community.
“Our society is slowly being eroded, let’s join hands and build a society that is best for all“, a member said.
Zimbabwe UMC leaders have also refused to accept this decision made at the GC with threats of distabilising and splitting the church.
