A 21-year-old student from the University of Zimbabwe, Ropafadzo Bundu, has sadly passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ropa was actively fundraising for urgent cancer treatment in India when her health deteriorated.
While pursuing a degree in Biomedical Sciences at UZ, she fell ill and received a cancer diagnosis that led to her ongoing struggle.
Her d3ath was confirmed by a member of her fundraising team.

“Dear Supporters,
It is with profound sadness that we announce Ropafadzo’s passing. Ropa passed away this morning (28 January 2024) at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, where she had been admitted due to complications from her illness.
She fought bravely, but unfortunately, she was unable to travel to India for her treatment. As a result, we will no longer be accepting donations. We sincerely appreciate your generous contributions, which will now be used to cover her outstanding medical expenses in Zimbabwe.
We will provide details regarding her burial and memorial service at a later date.
Ropa was a fierce fighter. In her spirit of resilience, we encourage you to keep supporting similar causes. Thank you for standing by Ropa and her family during this challenging time.”
Earlier this January, Ropa’s fundraising team announced that she needed US$20,064 for her treatment in India.
