A University in Nigeria has expelled some students of the institution for b3ating a co-student to d3ath over an alleged stolen phone.
According to a statement, “The University has zero tolerance for any sort of anti-societal vices and misconduct. It is important to stress that the expelled students do not belong to any cult group.
What actually happened is that the dec3ased was alleged to have stolen a mobile telephone, but instead of reporting the issue to the University management, the expelled students took the matter into their own hands.
In a viral video on social media, the students were seen thrashing their colleague who was rolling on the floor while one of them can be heard shouting “harder, harder”.
The now dec3ased student was reportedly assault3d from 6pm on Friday to 10am on Saturday.
The University is said to have taken measures to make sure that justice will be served and police has been involved to investigate the case.
