Two women were taken into custody by renowned private investigator Tafadzwa Chidawa, affectionately known as Detective Kedha, after incidents involving the alleged theft of a substantial sum of money at a popular entertainment venue in Mashwede, .
The incident unfolded during a vibrant show headlined by South African Amapiano star and DJ, Kabza De Small.
According to the male victim, he was enjoying the live performance in the VIP area alongside well-known musicians DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small when he was approached by the two women. After sharing drinks and laughter, they eventually suggested moving to the bar, leading to an unexpected turn of events.
The man recounted that he momentarily stepped away to take a call, leaving the two women in his vehicle. Upon his return, he discovered they had vanished, leaving behind only their shoes and purses. A frantic search confirmed his worst fears: the US$4,500 he had tucked away in the car’s dashboard was also missing.

One of the alleged culprits, identified only by the name Makanaka, vehemently rejected the accusations. She claimed the victim was fabricating the incident out of spite after she declined further advances following a night of champagne celebrations.
“I’m not guilty of anything. This guy is just trying to make me the bad person because I said no after he bought me drinks,” Makanaka asserted. “I didn’t take any money from him. I don’t know what happened to his cash.”
She was puzzled about how her belongings had ended up in the man’s car, asserting that she had briefly stepped away. “I don’t know how my shoes ended up in his car; I just walked back to the table, and everything was gone,” she explained, perplexed by the situation.
Makanaka described her confusion upon realizing everyone, including her personal items, had disappeared. “When I returned, the people had vanished, and I thought I’d lost my phone too. I asked the waiter about where the others had gone, but no one knew,” she continued.
Detective Kedha swiftly took action, tracking down Makanaka along with another individual named Melissa. Later, he updated the public on his X (formerly Twitter) account, announcing that the suspects had been apprehended and were currently at the Braeside Police Station for questioning. The case has attracted significant attention, with many curious to see how it will unfold in the coming days.
