The Zimbabwean High Court judge, Justice Mungwari, has postponed the bail hearing for former Harare Senator Jameson Timba and 78 others to July 16.
The High Court bail hearing for the detained Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) members took place on July 11 at the Harare High Court. Justice Mungwari scheduled the hearing for next week to allow the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) time to file papers in response to their appeal.
The CCC activists, who were arrested nearly four weeks ago, were further remanded in custody until July 24 by Harare Provincial Magistrate Caroline Matanga. Jameson Timba and the Avondale 78 were arrested for allegedly gathering “with intent to promote violence.”
