Selmor Mtukudzi, daughter of the late music icon Oliver Mtukudzi, will now headline the inaugural Oliver Mtukudzi International Festival of the Arts (OMIFA) on September 21-22 at Pakare Paye Arts Centre.
The event, held in honor of Tuku’s legacy, was initially marred by controversy when Selmor was surprisingly left out of the lineup.
However, after public outcry and fan support, she has been added as the top act, alongside other notable performers like Jah Prayzah.
Selmor expressed her gratitude to fans who advocated for her inclusion, and she’s now set to celebrate her father’s life and music on what would have been his 72nd birthday.
“To all who spoke up for me, you guys have been amazing. I’m extremely humbled by the love you have for my father which has extended over to me.
“I will not take it for granted.
For that reason and in honour of my father’s legacy, I will be coming to Pakare Paya,” reads part of Selmor’s post.
