Businessman Shepherd Chipatiko is embroiled in a bitter divorce battle with his ex-wife Varaidzo Marylyn Kunze, demanding a refund of R1.6 million spent on lobola and marriage celebrations.
The short-lived marriage ended in a tumult of personal attacks, with Chipatiko accusing Kunze of falsehoods and defamation.
According to reports, Chipatiko claims Kunze misrepresented her age, pregnancy, and number of children, and even offered him her daughter’s hand in marriage, which he declined.
Meanwhile, Shepherd has offered a R10,000 reward for information on Kunze’s whereabouts.
The couple’s lawyers, Kevin James McCallum Attorneys, have reportedly written to Kunze, demanding repayment of the lobola and celebrations costs, as well as R15,000 for defamation.
They allege Kunze published defamatory comments on social media and shared personal information about Chipatiko and his family, vi0lating the POPI Act.
Chipatiko’s demands include a public apology and retraction statements to media outlets. The case has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many calling for Kunze to refund the money and apologize for her actions.
The story of Shepherd Chipatiko captured public interest a week ago after revelations from his former spouse, Vee Marylyn, surfaced on social media. Marylyn took to Facebook to share details of Chipatiko’s latest marriage to Caroline Mugarisanwa, a church elder at ZAOGA.
According to Marylyn’s post, the saga began when Mugarisanwa was hired to decorate her birthday celebration last September. Allegedly, Mugarisanwa and Chipatiko began a relationship during this time, ultimately leading to their marriage.
The marriage reportedly marks Chipatiko’s fourth marriage within a span of four years, leaving behind a trail of failed relationships.
