VIDEO: 7-year-old Malawian boy hasn’t blinked or smiled since birth

Tusaiweyana, a mother from Malawi, is making a heartfelt plea for assistance for her son, Jay, who has faced a mysterious medical condition since birth.

In a video, she expressed her emotional journey in seeking help for her son, who hasn’t blinked, smiled, or closed his mouth for over seven years.

Jay’s condition significantly impacts his quality of life, making it difficult for him to eat, drink, and communicate emotions through facial expressions. Tusaiweyana described the heart-wrenching struggles they endure daily due to this condition, which prevents him from closing his mouth properly.

For nearly seven years, the mother has tirelessly searched for medical assistance in Malawi but has been unable to find the answers and support they desperately need. Despite the anguish surrounding her son’s condition, Tusaiweyana’s love for Jay remains unwavering.

She chooses to view him as a unique individual deserving of unconditional care and acceptance.

In her video, Tusaiweyana announced her upcoming plans to travel to South Africa in the next month. She hopes to find a definitive diagnosis and potential treatment options for Jay. “It is so sad to look for help for your child and never find it,” she shared, describing the frustration of her prolonged search for answers.

The video resonated with viewers across the globe, spurring a wave of reactions and suggestions from netizens.

One user, @what.sherface, encouraged Tusaiweyana to consider bringing Jay to the US, where there are numerous specialists available.

Another commenter, @aphotiklavender, suggested looking into Moebius syndrome, while @lung79 offered advice on consulting with medical professionals in South Africa, recommending a pediatrician or geneticist for diagnosis.

Additionally, users extended their goodwill, with @prettytima131 expressing hopes for Jay’s healing, and @khomotjomlati offering to meet the mother and son when they arrive in South Africa.
