A video has been circulating on social media with a Harare motorist attacking two City Park workers. In the video shared by Zim celebs, the frustrated motorist literally took matters into his own hands and beat the two City Park marshals after a disagreement.
According to some comments circulating on social media, the unknown motorist parked his car and waited for the City Park Marshals to make a payment. After he realised they were nowhere to be seen, he searched for them only to return and find his car clamped.
This enraged him as he would have to pay more money for them to remove the clamp while he only looked for them when they were not at their posts. The man then charged at the marshalls, starting with the male one first, who ran away, and he turned to the female marshall, hitting her.
Onlookers could be heard in the background cheering the motorist on and telling him to attack the marshals.
Comments on social media raised concerns as people started saying it was wrong to hit a woman who was doing her job. Some people raised the point that the male city park marshall was also beaten, but people are advocating for the female only.
Many reports and videos have been circulating recently about how Harare city parking marshalls operate. Many have complained about how their cars are charged with fees that they did not accumulate and how city park marshalls allegedly hide from motorists and wait for them to leave the car so that they clamp the vehicle.
The public is calling for law enforcement to investigate the matters causing citizens unrest and solve them.
