Pr0stitution, often described as the world’s oldest profession, continues to thrive in Zimbabwe, with s£x workers enjoying robust patronage from men across different religious, social, and economic backgrounds.
What was once seen as a shameful act, associated with irresponsible behavior, has evolved into a more accepted, albeit controversial, aspect of Zimbabwean society.
In the past, visiting pr0stitutes in brothels was considered a secretive and disgraceful act, something only the most reckless of men would indulge in.
However, societal attitudes have shifted significantly.

Today, it is not uncommon to see men in flashy cars openly pulling up to solicit the services of s3x workers who stand on the streets, major roads, and secluded corners.
This visibility speaks volumes about the changing perceptions and the normalisation of the s3x trade in the country.
Many Zimbabwean men, both married and single, allegedly find engaging with s£x workers a convenient way to satisfy their intimate desires.
The allure lies in the simplicity and transactional nature of the interaction.
Unlike traditional relationships, which require emotional investment, time, and often significant financial outlay, transactions with s£x workers are straightforward.
There is no need for wooing, waiting for responses, buying gifts, or dealing with the complexities of emotional attachment.
In a recent video that has been making waves online, a 51-year-old man candidly shared his preference for visiting s£x workers over pursuing relationships with women in town or even maintaining a marriage.
Speaking with Zimbo Live TV, he revealed his longstanding engagement with s£x workers and the reasons behind his choice.
“Touchline inondinakira vanenge vakawanda. Unoto chooser waunoda, motopinda mu cabin. Ndine 51 years. Ndatone nguva ndichienda pa touchline. Monday unogona kutomuona ne $, kugona kutaura kwako chete. Kana watodhurisirwa i $3. Tozobhadhara pondo, madhora maviri. Ende ndototenga ma condoms, protecter plus kwete epa clinic ndotenga mu shop. Ndakapfeka one haritsemuke,” he said, which translates to:
“I enjoy the brothel because there are many options. You get to choose whom you want, then you go into a cabin. I’m 51 years old and have been visiting brothels for a long time. On Monday, you can even see one for $1, depending on how well you can negotiate. Even if you’re charged more, it’s only $3. We pay in pounds, two dollars. I buy c0nd0ms, Protector Plus, not the ones from the clinic, I buy them in the shop. When I wear one, it doesn’t break.”
His confession underscores the practical reasons many men turn to s€x workers.
