Selmor, the daughter of the late music icon Oliver Mtukudzi, became emotional during her performance at the Oliver Mtukudzi International Festival of the Arts at Pakare Paya.
She opened up about the mistreatment she has faced from her stepmother, Daisy Mtukudzi, expressing frustration over her exclusion from the venue for seven years.
While singing her father’s poignant song “Changu Chii,” Selmor questioned the family dynamics and her treatment, saying, “When will you acknowledge me as Mtukudzi’s daughter?”

She expressed gratitude for her father’s legacy but lamented that his vision for unity within the family was not being realized.
Sources close to the situation revealed that Daisy had previously opposed Selmor’s album launch at the arts center and suggested that she should collaborate with Selmor, who has become a key figure representing the Mtukudzi family since her father’s passing.
They emphasized that Selmor’s involvement could revitalize the struggling arts center, which has seen facilities close down.
