M’diwa Mliswa Chanetsa, daughter of former Norton legislator Temba Mliswa, has been acquitted of dru_g possession charges after a thorough trial.
Harare magistrate Ruth Moyo ruled in favor of M’diwa, who had been arr3sted alongside Tawanda Chigudu.
The case stemmed from a police raid that uncovered dr_ugs in a home shared by Chigudu’s brothers.

However, there was no direct evidence linking M’diwa or Chigudu to the narcotics. M’diwa argued that she was merely visiting at the time of the search.
The magistrate noted that nothing incriminating was found in her belongings or in Chigudu’s room, and state witnesses failed to prove that the accus3d were connected to the drugs.
Although prosecutors pointed to a sachet of crystal m3th discovered under a sofa, the court determined there were insufficient grounds for a conviction.
