Herbert Musiyandaka, the village head of Musiyandaka Village in Chimanimani, is facing severe backlash and potential removal from his position due to allegations of an extramarital affair with a married woman from his community.
According to Manicapost, this is not the first time Musiyandaka has been embroiled in an adultery scandal, having faced similar accusations in the past [1).
The latest allegations surfaced when Peter Mashava, one of Musiyandaka’s subjects, brought the matter to Chief Saurombe’s community court. Mashava accused Musiyandaka of having an illicit relationship with his wife, Esther Mlambo.
The situation has reportedly escalated to the point where Mashava felt compelled to leave his marital home due to threats linked to the village head.
As a traditional leader, Musiyandaka is expected to uphold certain moral standards and lead by example.
His actions have sparked outrage and raised questions about his suitability to continue holding his influential position.
“I have been receiving thre@tening messages from an unknown number ever since I raised this issue. I believe these thre@tening messages are from Musiyandaka because people from the village have been telling me for a while that he is bedding my wife,” said Mr Mashava.
Mr Mashava says the situation has grown untenable. He sent his wife back to her parents’ house over the claimed promiscuity, but she returned soon after.
“Musiyandaka insisted that I take her back. He forced me to let her come back home though I had closed all doors on her. He argued that I had no choice, but to stay with her, even though I could not endure her wayward behaviour anymore,” he said.
