Floyd Mayweather set foot in Zimbabwe with a bang, commencing his highly anticipated ‘The Motherland Tour,’ which will also take him to South Africa.
The renowned boxer arrived in Harare, Zimbabwe, initiating a three-day extravaganza in the African nation as part of his thrilling ‘The Motherland Tour.’
He then made a special appearance in Mabvuku, where Scott Sakupwanya, an honorary member of The Money Team and ZANU PF candidate, is striving for a legislative position.
During the rally, Sakupwanya spoke to Reuters, explaining that he had extended an invitation to Mayweather to visit Zimbabwe. He revealed that people doubted him when he mentioned his invitation to the former boxer, but Mayweather’s presence in Zimbabwe served as proof that he intends to fulfil his election promises.
“People thought I was lying when I said I would bring Mayweather, but he is here. This shows that what I will promise in this election will come to pass,” Sakupwanya told Reuters at the rally.
The 46-year-old American boxing legend mesmerized the audience with an impressive public workout, showcasing his remarkable punching skills and demonstrating his agility with skipping ropes. He also witnessed three bouts featuring Zimbabwe’s emerging boxing talents.
After his remarkable experiences in Zimbabwe, Floyd Mayweather will venture to South Africa to continue his tour of the African continent. On July 15, he will be warmly received at the esteemed Sandton Convention Centre.
