WATCH: “I can’t be f00lish to curse where i stay”-Charles Charamba
Veteran gospel musician Charles Charamba has called upon Zimbabweans to pray for the new currency, the Zig currency.
In a video circulating on social media, Charles Charamba emphasises that he does not support a behavior where, when traveling overseas, one disparages their home currency, such as devaluing the Zig currency. He expressed that it would be unwise to disregard one’s origins in such a manner and suggested that the country can negotiate borrowing terms using the Zig currency.
“I can’t be f00lish to curse where i stay,” he said.
Charamba pointed out that as individuals, it is crucial to pray for the currency to gain credibility because it directly affects everyone. He cited a biblical example where God instructed the Jews to pray for the prosperity of their nation.

This plea from Charles Charamba comes amidst public skepticism and reluctance, particularly within the informal trading sector, towards accepting the new currency.
