A dramatic video has surfaced showing two men forcing a ZRP police officer into their vehicle and driving off during a heated argument.
The incident is believed to have occurred during a police operation aimed at cracking down on touts and mushikashika in the country.
The “no to touts” operation is an ongoing campaign by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) aimed at curbing the activities of touts and mushikashika, who have been causing chaos on the country’s roads.
According to eyewitnesses, the police officer, who was on duty at the time, had cracked the windscreen of the kombi during the operation, which sparked a confrontation. The kombi’s operators, believed to be the two men seen in the video, forcibly pushed the officer into their vehicle and drove off.
The police officer, seemingly helpless, tried to resist but was eventually forced into the kombi. The door was closed, and the vehicle drove away, leaving behind a scene of chaos and concern for the officer’s safety.
The incident is being viewed as a serious offense in Zimbabwe, as kidnapping a police officer is a serious crime and can result in severe penalties, including imprisonment. Additionally, disobeying his instructions and @ssaulting him are also unacceptable behaviors that will not be tolerated.
The kombi crew has since been arrested and will face the full force of the law for their actions.
