Kelvin Kagondo, a resident of Waterfalls, Harare, has sparked a conversation about self-defense and culpability after he allegedly defended himself against @ttackers and k!lled one of them.
Kagondo has been ordered to remain in custody until July 22 2024, with the option to apply for bail through the High Court.
According to the prosecution, Kagondo was confronted by a group of individuals, including the deceased, while he was transporting various items from his mother’s house to his home in Retreat Waterfalls.
The group accused him of theft, and the situation escalated into a physical altercation.
Kagondo was @ssaulted and pressured to confess to the alleged theft.
In self-defense, he reportedly threw a quarter-brick at his aggressors, striking one of them on the head and causing him to fall unconscious.
The !njured individual was later declared d3ad at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital.
Kagondo fled the scene but was later apprehended by the police, who found him wearing a shirt stained with bl00d and discovered a bl00d-stained brick allegedly used in the incident.
