Watson Chidzomba d!es: Cause of d3@th revealed

In a sad development, veteran filmmaker, actor and scriptwriter, Watson Chidzomba, has d!ed.

Chidzomba breathed his last on Thursday afternoon at a private hospital in Norton.

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by his son and musician Watson Chidzomba Junior also known as Jay Watta when contacted by source. While not delving into specific details about the cause of d3@th, Chidzomba Junior shared that his father had been admitted to the hospital after complaining about an ulcer.

“I can confirm that my father is no more. He was complaining of an ulcer,” he said.

Watson Chidzomba Senior, formerly the manager of Oliver Mtukudzi’s Pakare Paye Arts Centre, made notable contributions to the screen with roles in various dramas and movies. He portrayed a detective in ‘Zviri Mudendere,’ starred as Baba Maidei alongside the legendary comedian Phillip Gadzikwa Mushangwe (Paraffin) in the 1990s, and played Baba vaShingi in Nzungu Muriva.

In another piece of unfortunate news, the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) is mourning once again, this time due to the untimely demise of producer Julius Chirume. The 36-year-old producer passed away on Thursday afternoon at Madokero Clinic.

Chirume, who initially joined the State broadcaster as a sports intern in 2009, later became a producer in the Kidznet section of the TV, News, and Current Affairs department until his sudden de3th.

This sorrowful announcement follows closely on the heels of the recent burial of seasoned ZBC journalist Hector Murombedzi, who passed away on Monday at Suburban Hospital in Harare at the age of 53. Having started his career with ZBC in 1997 as a camera person, Murombedzi evolved through various roles, ultimately serving as Mashonaland Central Province Bureau Chief before returning to the Radio News Desk as Sub-Editor until his passing.

Mourners are currently gathering at House Number 5-27th Crescent, Warren Park 1, Harare, to pay their respects to the late Murombedzi.

Hector Murombedzi is survived by his wife Joyce and two children.
